Karine Jaouich, Principal 

I have been working in leadership and operational roles for more than twenty years.  I worked at various nonprofit organization, business, social enterprises, startups, and the public sector.  My strengths are in supporting organizations during periods of growth and change.  Creating new systems and processes for implementing innovations is one of my core competencies.  I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, with a minor in Computer Modelling, from the University of Guelph.


Some highlights of my previous in-house experience include:

Centre for Social Innovation, COO

Led the operations during a massive growth from 1 to 5 locations.  Responsible for organizational development, real estate acquisition and capital projects, leasing, finance, HR and governance support. 

Community Food Centres Canada, COO

Led the operations during a period of growth from 30 to 50 employees.  Responsible for finances, HR, digital infrastructure, real estate acquisition and governance support.

Anima Leadership, COO

Led the operations during a period of growth from 5 to 15 employees.  Responsible for for finance, HR, planning and digital systems.

Elections Ontario, Director of Shared Services

Supported the organization through an general election and subsequent planning.  Responsible for planning, finance, HR, election logistics and planning.

FoodShare, Operations and Program Development Director

Led the operations during a program growth phase and a complex site relocation.

Values and Approach

Collaborative and Equity-Oriented

Allelo works collaboratively with the operations and the relevant business unit leads - often in a working group format if there is staff time available.  Our approach is equity-oriented with an understand of identity and power.

Experienced

Through years of hands-on operational experience and expertise, Allelo brings examples of best practices for discussion, removing the intimidating factor of starting from scratch.  Through collaboration, the strategy can be tweaked, refined or changed as needed.  This saves a lot of time and frustration.

Comprehensive Implementation

Allelo is embedded in the team during the length of the project and can implement the strategy from beginning to end,  or we can vary our involvement based on staff roles, capacity, budget and client requirement. 

Agile Methodology

 Allelo uses an agile methodology inspired approach.  Once the overall strategy is approved, the implementation is broken down into short phases to allow for team feedback and iteration.
